NEW YORK--()--Focus Financial Partners Inc., a leading partnership of fiduciary wealth management, business management, and related financial services firms, today announced a new General Counsel and several key promotions within its legal department to build on the firm’s existing bench of legal talent.

Focus has announced appointments to the following roles:

Greg Woods will assume the position of General Counsel for Focus Financial Partners on November 19, 2024. As General Counsel, Mr. Woods will be responsible for overseeing all legal matters pertaining to Focus Financial Partners and its operating businesses. Prior to joining Focus, Mr. Woods was the Executive Vice President and Head of Litigation, Regulatory Affairs, and Corporate Law in the Legal and Government Relations department at LPL Financial, in addition to serving as LPL’s Corporate Secretary. Prior to his more than 12-year tenure with LPL, Mr. Woods was Managing Director, General Counsel, and Corporate Secretary of The First Marblehead Corporation and a Partner in the corporate department at Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP.

Mr. Woods will succeed Russell McGranahan, who left the firm on October 23, 2024. Mr. McGranahan had been with Focus for nine years and played a critical role in supporting the growth of the company. “We are deeply appreciative of the many substantial contributions Mr. McGranahan made during his time here,” said Mr. Nathanson.

Anil Abraham, in addition to his current responsibilities, will assume the position of Chief Risk Officer, effective immediately. Mr. Abraham has worked at Focus for nearly nine years in a senior leadership capacity, providing valuable counsel across the organization. Prior to joining the firm, he worked in several senior positions at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, was a financial advisor with Raymond James & Associates, and held other legal roles throughout his career.

Amrita Nangiana, in addition to her current responsibilities, will assume the position of Co-Head of Corporate Legal, effective immediately. Ms. Nangiana has worked at Focus for more than seven years, playing an integral role in Focus’s strategic M&A activity. Before Focus, she held Associate roles with Stroock & Stroock & Lavan LLP, Sheppard Mullin Richter & Hampton LLP, and Bingham McCutchen LLP.

Adam Karasik, in addition to his current responsibilities, will assume the position of Co-Head of Corporate Legal, effective immediately. Mr. Karasik has been with Focus for nearly nine years, playing an integral role in Focus’s strategic M&A activity. Prior to Focus, he served as Corporate Counsel at Thomson Reuters and held Associate roles with Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel LLP and Dewey Ballantine LLP.
