TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Cboe Canada Inc. (“Cboe Canada”) is proud to welcome back Global X Investments Canada Inc. (“Global X”) for the launch of two new ETFs. The Global X Russell 2000 Index ETF and the Global X Russell 2000 Covered Call ETF both offer access to small-cap equities listed on U.S. markets and now trade on Cboe Canada under the symbols RSSX/RSSX.U and RSCC, respectively.
“Small-capitalization companies, like those within the Russell 2000 index, underpin the U.S. economy, represent real sector diversity and can be a more efficient way to capitalize on news-driven opportunities in markets,” said Chris McHaney, Executive Vice President, Investment Management & Strategy at Global X. “We’re pleased to work with Cboe Canada to offer Canadians exciting, new ways to invest in the Russell 2000, including with a covered call overlay accessible through RSCC, so that investors can take advantage of additional income opportunities with the added benefit of downside mitigation.”
Global X Russell 2000 Index ETF – (RSSX/RSSX.U) aims to provide long-term capital appreciation by tracking the performance of the Russell 2000 RIC Capped Index, an index designed to measure the performance of the small-cap segment of the U.S. equity market.
Global X Russell 2000 Covered Call ETF – (RSCC) is designed to offer exposure to the small-cap U.S. equities market by tracking the performance of the Russell 2000 RIC Capped Index. The fund also aims to provide monthly distributions of dividend income and call option premiums, while mitigating downside risk through a covered call options strategy.
“It’s a pleasure to welcome Global X back for their fourth ETF launch this year on Cboe Canada,” added Rob Marrocco, Global Head of ETF Listings at Cboe Global Markets. “Today’s launches are particularly meaningful for Cboe, as we have long served as the exclusive listing exchange for Russell 2000 Index options. With these new ETFs, we are leveraging our strengths across asset classes and Cboe’s expertise in listing both options – and ETFs that incorporate these products. We look forward to strengthening our relationship with Global X, expanding their listings across our exchanges globally in the years to come.”
The two new tickers join eight Global X ETFs already listed on Cboe Canada. Investors can trade units of all Global X ETFs through their usual investment channels, including discount brokerage platforms and full-service dealers.
