TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Picton Mahoney Asset Management (“Picton Mahoney”) today announced the launch of the Picton Mahoney Fortified Investment Grade Alternative Fund (“Investment Grade Alternative Fund”). The fund will offer four classes of units: Class A, Class F, Class I, Class O and ETF units, which will be offered to the public. The ETF units will commence trading on the Toronto Stock Exchange today. Class A, F, I and O units of the fund were launched on November 6, 2024, and are currently available to the public.
“We’re thrilled to launch our newest fixed income strategy, the Investment Grade Alternative Fund,” said Jason Young, Fixed Income Portfolio Manager at Picton Mahoney. “This fund is designed to capitalize on opportunities within high-quality, investment-grade companies, and is particularly timely given the current economic uncertainty and heightened interest rate volatility. With its long/short approach and advanced hedging tools, the fund can effectively mitigate macro risks while seizing fundamental relative value opportunities.”
Uniquely designed to provide investors an alternative solution to traditional options, the Investment Grade Alternative Fund follows a long/short North American strategy centered on investment-grade credit, aiming to deliver strong risk-adjusted returns by actively trading both outright and relative value opportunities while offering low correlation to major markets. To help manage the risks commonly linked to fixed income investing – such as interest rate, liquidity, currency and credit risk – the Fund incorporates targeted hedging tools such as shorting.
“Our goal with the Investment Grade Alternative Fund is to provide investors with a resilient alternative in today’s volatile market environment,” continued Young. “By combining investment-grade credit with active risk management, we’re positioned to deliver strong risk-adjusted returns while navigating the complexities of rate, credit and liquidity risks. This approach offers a distinctive way for investors to strengthen and diversify their income portfolios amid ongoing market challenges.”
